Kenya
Kenyans are gearing up for the 2017 presidential elections on Tuesday, and the capital Nairobi is calm after weeks of tensed campaigns.
Africanews journalist Michael Oduor, who is in Nairobi, is reporting that security is tight, the streets are calm and the race is expected to be tight as well.
“I expect a huge massive turn out especially from the youth and even the elderly and I expect peaceful and fair election,” a resident of Nairobi told Oduor on Monday morning.
Another resident said: “What I’m urging is peaceful election. We thank God for this country because it is a peaceful election. I’m urging Kenyans to have peace and unity.”
Michael Oduor takes us through the local dailies and gives us a feel of the atmosphere via Facebook and Twitter.
